David Villanueva began his woodworking career in Los Angeles. The city’s eclectic world of style and design helped him find his footing working on ultra high-end projects for notable designers and celebrity clients. These projects gave him the opportunity to handle a variety of high end materials and execute some fun and eccentric designs.

In 2020, that experience proved useful when he began working at the award winning design-build architecture firm, Field Work Design, in Portland. From there, David found a long term home working at the renowned furniture and cabinetmaking shop, Made. During his five years working at Made as shop manager, David refined his craft and gathered the necessary skills to branch off on his own as Seventh Villa. 

The name Seventh Villa is a heartwarming reference to the vanity license plate on David’s family’s ‘97 Volvo S90, which read “7VILLAS”. David, being the youngest of five kids, is the seventh Villanueva, or Seventh Villa.
